The Rename: 4-Seasons Became All Seasons Customisable
If a forum thread, a receipt, or a cardboard sleeve still says 4-Seasons Duvet, you already own this. Emma’s Irish terms are blunt: from 1 February 2026 the 4-seasons Duvet is the All Seasons Customisable Duvet, and leftover boxes may keep the old print. The live emma-sleep.ie product page still drops “Emma 4-Seasons Duvet” as a heading under the new title. That is not a second SKU. It is a labelling project.

Bottom line: “Customisable” is the word Emma added so the listing sounds like a system. The system was already two layers and a handful of clips. Do not pay twice for a rename.

I kick covers off. A year-round duvet only earns its keep if the light layer is actually light enough for a warm Irish night, and if clipping the second layer back on in October is a two-minute job. All Seasons passes the mechanics test. The clips are the product. The cotton fabric washes. What it does not pass without a wince is the till.
Five of us used it: me (combo, hot, 80 kg), Aoife (side, cold, 65 kg), Ciarán (back, warm, 85 kg), Siobhán (combo, 70 kg, shares a bed with Dara) and Oisín (stomach, hot, 95 kg). One layer, then the other, then both clipped. Nobody is quoting a tog — Emma Ireland did not print one. We scored warmth as too little / about right / too much in a Dublin bedroom, not as a lab certificate.
The editorial problem is next door on the same hub. Spring & Autumn is 40% off at €71.40 while this sits at €219 with no Late Summer percentage. If you will not unclip, you are paying triple for a second insert you will never take off.

Quick Verdict for Irish Buyers
The All Seasons Customisable Duvet is two inserts that clip together so you can sleep under layer A, layer B, or both. Emma Ireland sells that as three personalised temperature levels and a clip-on feature so the layers do not slip. Fabric on the Irish page is cotton; wash at a maximum of 60°C, tumble dry low. Fill type, layer weights, and tog are unpublished — we mark those as unpublished rather than borrowing a UK retailer’s numbers.
The size we could verify on emma-sleep.ie in August 2026 is Single 140×200 cm (4'7 × 6'7). No other size rendered on the live configurator we loaded. Trial is 14 nights, which in Emma’s T&Cs is the statutory cooling-off window with zero extra Emma days — not the 200-night mattress trial. Guarantee: excluded in clause 19.1, even though the PDP still flashes “Quality Guarantee.”
At €219 with no Late Summer cut, this is a year-round system priced like a system. The sibling Spring & Autumn duvet is €71.40 (was €119) in the same sale window. Buy All Seasons if you will actually change layers with the Irish calendar. Skip it if you want one cover and a discount.
Bottom line: the clips and the three modes are real. The missing tog is real. The price gap versus the sale duvet is the review.

Two Layers, Clips, Three Warmth Levels
Emma’s duvets hub is the cleanest one-liner they publish: two layers for three personalised temperature levels, cotton fabric, machine washable. The product page adds the clip-on feature so neither layer slips. That is the entire engineering story available to an Irish buyer. No gram weights. No “this face is the summer insert” callout we could quote. You operate it like a 3-in-1, not like a labelled tog sandwich.
Seán and Oisín lived here in the warm stretch. One insert in a cotton cover. If this still feels like a winter stack on a humid night, you bought the wrong Emma duvet — look at Spring & Autumn instead.
Ciarán’s default. The unused insert stays in the hot press. This is the Irish April / October setting, when one thin hotel summer duvet is mean and both layers is a 2am kick-off.
Aoife’s winter. Clip first, then bag both in one duvet cover. Unclipped inside a cover is how layers wander and you wake with a cold stripe down your shin.

Two inserts, one envelopeThe winter stack. Clips at the layers so they are supposed to behave as one duvet inside a cover, not two sliding pancakes. This is the mode you are paying €219 for if you will actually use it from November to March.
Clip-on fasteners
Published as a feature, not a specEmma’s Irish copy: the clip-on feature prevents either layer from slipping. That is the mechanical claim. It is not a zip, not a button tape Emma specifies, and not a tog number. If the clips sit outside your duvet cover they will snag; they belong inside the cover, layers already joined.
How to clip it so the layers do not wander
- Lay both inserts flat. Do not clip them already stuffed in a cover — you will miss a corner, and that corner is the one that slides.
- Join the clip-on fasteners so the two layers become one stack. Emma’s claim is that this stops slipping. Treat it as a join, not decoration.
- Bag the joined stack in a duvet cover. Internal ties, if you have them, go on the stack, not on one layer.
- Switching modes: unclip on the bed; spare insert in a bag in the hot press — not draped on a chair collecting dog hair.
Siobhán’s couples note: you cannot give Dara one layer and keep the other as a split-king. This is one duvet that changes thickness with the season. Partners who need different warmth on the same night need two covers, not one All Seasons.
Clip caveat: Emma does not publish how many fasteners, where they sit, or a failure rate. We used the ones on the product. They held the stack as one inside a cover. They are fiddly with cold fingers. That is a 4.2 on clips, not a 5 — a 5 would be labelled layers and a zip the size of a coat.
Year-Round in an Irish Bedroom, Not a Brochure
Irish houses are damp, often under-heated, then suddenly 22°C in June with no air conditioning. A year-round duvet here is one you thin out — not one you leave stacked from January to December. If you will not unclip, All Seasons is a heavier Spring & Autumn at triple the Late Summer price.

Emma’s own FAQ vs the Irish calendar
The shared duvets FAQ says Spring & Autumn is “ideal for autumn, winter, and anyone who tends to feel cold at night,” and All Seasons is the one you adjust to any temperature. That sells the cheaper duvet as a cold-weather cover — while its own PDP also talks about staying cool in summer — and sells All Seasons as flexibility you have to operate. Fair, if you will operate it.
A clipped stack is not a labelled 13.5-tog hotel winter duvet in a stone cottage. A single light insert is not a lie in a Dublin new-build. Use the 14 nights on the mode you think you will live in. If you only test the stack in August, you have not tested the product.
What this is not
Not a weighted blanket (7 kg, 20% off when we checked, 30°C / air-dry on the blanket — deep pressure is not a tog). Not a waterproof mattress protector. Spills hit the mattress; this insert sits in a cover on you. Protector for hygiene. This for warmth you can change.
Emma Ireland Does Not Publish a Tog
Irish duvet shopping is tog shopping. Dunnes, Penneys, and the hotel trolley all speak 4.5 / 9 / 13.5, or a 4.5+9 all-seasons clip pack. Emma’s Irish All Seasons page does not. We fetched the product URL, the duvets hub, the Spring & Autumn contrast page, and the terms. None of them print a tog for this SKU. Fill fibre is equally unpublished on the Irish PDP — cotton is the fabric, not a declared fill. Layer weights: unpublished. We are not going to type 4.5, 9, or 13.5 into this review as if they were measured here.
Why we will not import a UK tog
Third-party UK pages for similarly named Emma duvets quote togs. Those pages are not emma-sleep.ie. Specs drift between markets. If Emma wanted Irish buyers to shop by tog, the configurator would show one. It shows layers and a price. You cannot honestly say “this is a 13.5-tog winter duvet” on the back of the Irish PDP. You can say three modes, cotton fabric, clips, 60°C wash. Need a printed tog for a gift list? Shop a brand that prints it. Use the 14 nights as a feel test, not a lab certificate.
Wash, which Emma did publish: maximum 60°C, mild detergent, no bleach, tumble dry low — same FAQ line as Spring & Autumn. “100% machine washable” on the PDP means you can put it in a machine, not that the fill is 100% cotton. Keep the language straight.
How We Rated It
A decent cotton-fabric insert once it is in a cover. Not a cloud of down. Comfortable in the mode that matches the night; bulky when both layers are on a warm sleeper.
This is the point of the SKU. Three modes you can feel. Unpublished tog does not stop the modes existing. Aoife needed the stack; Seán needed one layer.
Held as one stack inside a cover when we clipped first. Fiddly. Not labelled by warmth. A zip would have scored higher.
60°C and tumble dry low is the honest Irish-household spec. Weights unpublished, so one insert per cycle on a small drum.
€219 with no Late Summer cut, beside a sibling duvet at €71.40 (40% off). The missing star lives here. Flexibility has to be used or the price is a mistake.

All Seasons vs Spring & Autumn (and the Weighted Blanket)
Three different jobs. All Seasons is the clip system. Spring & Autumn is one lightweight microfibre insert, formerly Cloud. Weighted Blanket is 7 kg of pressure, not warmth modes. Late Summer terms put a percentage on two of those three. Guess which one is missing.

Irish Price: €219, and the Cheaper Duvet Is 40% Off
Checked on emma-sleep.ie in August 2026 during the Late Summer sale. Emma’s own terms (clause 21.2) list Spring & Autumn at 40% off and the Weighted Blanket at 20% off. All Seasons is not in that list. The live PDP matches: €219.00 incl. VAT, no strikethrough, no “40% off” chip. Treat €219 as the figure on the page that day, not a forever promise — Emma recalculates at checkout — but do not wait for a percentage that the terms did not offer this SKU.
€219 minus €71.40 is €147.60 — what you pay, in this window, for the second insert and the clips. Use three modes across a year and you can defend it. Use one mode and you skipped a 40% ticket. Value is 3.5 for that reason, not because the cotton stack is a bad cover. Klarna (pay in 3) or Alma (pay in 3 or 4 from €100) at checkout. Free delivery 2–5 working days. A basket-level SAVE50 / SAVE100 coupon was running on some Emma orders in late August 2026 (terms clause 22, ending 24 August) at €600 / €1,000 thresholds. A €219 duvet alone does not hit that. Confirm live.
The Case Against All Seasons
We give it 4.1/5. The missing tenths are three Irish-buyer facts Emma’s retailer FAQ will not lead with.
1. You are paying full price while the other duvet is 40% off
Late Summer through 30 August 2026 is real money on Spring & Autumn and on the Weighted Blanket. It is not real money on this SKU. If your household will not operate the clips, €219 is a vanity receipt. Walk next door on the same hub.
2. Fourteen nights, and no guarantee
Duvets: statutory 14 days, 0 Emma extra days. Mattresses: 200. Pillows: 30. Clause 19.1 excludes All Seasons from any guarantee period. The PDP badge that says Quality Guarantee is not the T&Cs. Statutory rights for a faulty product still exist. A 10-year mattress-style promise does not. Use the 14. Do not “see how winter goes” in September and expect a refund in January.
3. No tog, unpublished fill, only Single shown
You cannot map this to an Irish 4.5 / 9 / 13.5 shelf without guessing, and we will not guess. Fill fibre is not on the Irish PDP. The size control we loaded showed Single 140×200 only. If you need a labelled winter tog, a declared fill, or a Super King, this listing as we saw it will not give it to you.
When to walk away: you already have a winter duvet and only wanted a light cover; you need a printed tog; you thought duvets got 200 nights; or you need a size the Irish page does not show. The 14 nights cover a warmth-mode experiment. They do not cover a size Emma did not list or a guarantee Emma excluded.
